Ten deaths from complications of the flu have been recorded so far this year in Cyprus, the Director of Medical Services of the Ministry of Health, Elisabeth Constantinou, told CNA.
These are, as he said, mainly vulnerable elderly people with comorbidities.
According to Ms. Konstantinou, the specific cases have been admitted to the hospital, with the main cause being influenza, noting that the final cause of death will be determined in the near future.
It is noted that the final cause of death is determined by special procedures by the World Health Organization, through specific software systems.
