The unions of the nurses of the public hospitals, PASYDY and PASYNO, will have a meeting with the management of OKYpY at 11 am, after the suspension of their strike actions, in a last-ditch effort to find solutions to the problems faced by the nurses, mainly that of understaffing of hospitals.
In statements to the KYPE, before the meeting, which will also be attended by the General Secretary of PASYDY Stratis Matthaios, the President of the Nursing Branch of PASYDY Prodromos Argyridis said that "we are going to the meeting, which was set last week, in view of the effort that is being done on both sides to find solutions to the issues mainly of staffing, with the hope that OKYPY will be ready to give us substantial solutions so that public hospitals can offer what they must offer safely to our fellow citizens".
"We suspended the measures in a last ditch effort to find solutions," he said and added that "if today's meeting disappoints us and no solutions are found then we will think about what we do next."
"After the meeting we will weigh the results and see what we do," he concluded.
