The adaptation of two more of its clinical guidelines for the evaluation and management of thyroid cancer and the management of chronic kidney disease as well as the relevant quality indicators for monitoring their implementation has been completed, reports in announcement of the Health Insurance Organization (OAY).
Specifically, according to the OAU announcement, the guidelines, which are immediately implemented, are the guideline for the evaluation and management of thyroid cancer and the guideline for the evaluation and management of chronic kidney disease.
As stated by the OAU "these instructions come to complement the guideline for the diagnosis and management of atrial fibrillation, which was adapted to the Cypriot reality and came into effect in July 2023".
He adds that "the above indicates the practical commitment of the organization to the implementation of scientifically documented disease management practices, in the context of the General Health System (GHS), in a transparent, participative manner and, above all, in line with the best practices internationally".
On the occasion of the completion of these new instructions, the OAU thanks the Pancypriot Medical Association for its continuous support in the process and the University of Cyprus for the staffing and operation of the Support Committee".
He also especially thanks all the members of the Technical Committees of Experts and the professional or scientific bodies and the organized groups they represent, for their constant and tireless contribution to the adaptation of the directives.
