The government doctors in the public hospitals go on a 48-hour strike after yesterday's deadlock at the meeting of OKYpY and trade unions.
During the meeting OKYpY insisted on the position that "any solution must be holistic" and that they must reach an agreement on the financial incentives of doctors from 2023 to 2027.
For their part, the doctors' guilds proposed to the meeting a return, primarily, of the amount of money, which concerns the years 2023-2024, assuring that they would quickly - even from tomorrow - proceed with the consultation, in relation to the parameters recorded for 2025 -2027.
OKYpY announced that it has taken measures to continue the treatment of patients in public hospitals and not to put patients' lives at risk.
The President of PASYKI, Sotiris Koumas, said that they will work only for the hospitalized and that the TAEP will operate in a specific way.
President Christodoulidis stated last night that the state is not going to succumb to pressures that do not have the well-intentioned interest of the whole of society at the center or that act as an obstacle to major reforms.
Commenting on the strikes in various sectors, he called on everyone to rise to the occasion and in a spirit of prudence and consensus "and without any external interventions, which may serve other purposes" so as not to lead to a crisis, regardless of the consequences on the economy, but also to the citizens.
