In addition to the two hundred doctors of various specialties who staff the public hospitals of Cyprus, they come from Greece, due to the high salaries and better working conditions
In statements to RIK, the press representative of Okypi Charalambos Charilaou confirmed a report by the BIMA newspaper, stating that a quarter of the doctors in the public hospitals are Greeks.
The publication also mentions that there are private clinics in Cyprus, staffed almost exclusively by Greek doctors.
It is added that this development leads to the collapse of the National Health Plan of Greece.
The press representative of Okypy pointed out that Cypriot doctors who want to return, after their studies, will definitely secure a place in public hospitals as the needs are great, especially in specialties such as nephrologists, pediatric nephrologists, endocrinologists, hepatologists and pediatric cardiologists.
