The Health Insurance Organization has issued instructions to pharmacists to serve fire victims who lost their medicines or consumables during the fire and are facing problems filling their prescriptions at pharmacies, the Director General of the Health Insurance Organization, Ifigenia Kammitsi, told CNA. According to CNA, the above actions were taken after fire victims complained that they had been treated in a “bureaucratic” manner.
CNA contacted the Health Insurance Organization (OAH) after an issue arose with the fulfillment of prescriptions at pharmacies for chronic patients affected by the fire, with the Organization assuring that those affected by the fire can already go to the nearest pharmacies and get their medications without delay.
According to Ifigenia Kammitsi, the OAY sent instructions to pharmacists on how to find the prescriptions in question, which are closed in the system, so that they can serve the beneficiaries affected by the fire immediately.
Furthermore, he noted that the Organization contacted the Pancyprian Pharmaceutical Association, so that it could in turn give instructions to its members, for immediate service to those affected by the fire.
Ms. Kammitsi calls on providers and beneficiaries to contact the OAY Service Center, at 17000, a free call, for any questions they may have regarding the execution of a prescription.
"The OHS is closely monitoring developments and remains on standby, aiming to immediately serve and facilitate the affected beneficiaries," he said.
