Due to the increased activity of respiratory viruses (mainly influenza), the Ministry of Health reminds the public of the individual protection measures in order to limit the risk of infection by respiratory viruses:
Wash hands regularly and thoroughly with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub.
Avoid touching your face, specifically your eyes, nose, and mouth (portals of entry for viruses into the body) if you have not previously washed your hands.
Limit your contacts as much as possible with people who are already sick and have symptoms, especially if you belong to vulnerable groups.
If you have symptoms of a respiratory infection (severe cough, fever, runny nose):
Self-isolate and stay at home for at least 24 hours after they subside.
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or the inside of your elbow.
Wear a mask in case of congestive conditions.
Consult your personal physician or Personal Physicians On-Call Services.
