A large fire broke out late in the afternoon in a rural area in Achna, burning a large area with low vegetation of acacias and pieces of grain. Due to the strong winds, the fire spread very quickly, making the work of the members of the Fire Service more difficult.
In fact, thanks to the strong winds, the fire crossed the old Larnaca-Famagusta road and spread to agricultural parcels, while agricultural and livestock farms were threatened.

A firefighting vehicle from the British Base of Agios Nikolaos Station also responded to the fire, while the fire seems to have started from the occupied Achna and the dead zone while expanding thanks to the strong northeast wind in the free areas.
The fire caused extensive damage to homes, property and agricultural equipment and water supply turbines, while the Fire Service is investigating the causes of the fire.
