The 4th Pan-Cypriot Refugee Encounter, a trek commemorating the uprooting of 1974, is organized from October 7 to 20 at the Achnas Forest Square in the Achnas Municipal District of the Municipality of Agia Napa.
An event now an institution for the refugee, where for the 4th time stories will be revived that should not be forgotten by the older ones and that the younger ones should learn. As is well known, Dasaki Achnas carries the tragic history of the largest refugee settlement in Cyprus in 1974.
On Friday, October 11, an artistic program will be held, which will be preceded at 18:00 by a prayer in the forecourt of the monument - Refugee Tent and a guided tour of the theme park.
Immediately after, around 19:30, a welcome from the Deputy Mayor of the Achnas District, Mr. Nikos Vasilas, and the Mayor of Agia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannettos, a greeting from the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Dr. Athena Michailidou, awarding of honorary plaques to the sponsors, music and dance performance by the Cultural Folklore Group "Dassous ΄Achnas" and the evening will close with the concert of the acclaimed artists Michalis Hatzigianni and Eleni Tsaligopoulou, which starts at 21:00.
