Dasaki Achnas was presented on November 12 before the court of BB Dekelia and was released on €5.000 bail after being accused of causing actual grievous bodily harm when he stabbed his father in the leg.
The accused, who will answer to the charges when he returns to court on November 16, has now been banned from entering his home and must stay at his uncle's house until further notice.
It is believed that the cause of the fight on November 7, was a mobile phone and resulted in the defendant's father being admitted to Larnaca General Hospital for surgery on his wound.
The BB Police were alerted by the accused's brother early in the evening when his father was taken to the hospital and as a result, the officers confirmed that the accused surrendered to the authorities.
The Senior Constable of Dekelia, Fanos Christodoulou, said: "It was a very serious incident and it was dealt with by the armed team of the BB police as provided by law.
"Thankfully, the victim was not seriously injured and is fine, but we must ensure that this does not go unpunished and if the defendant is found guilty, he will be given the maximum sentence under the law."
