Twenty-two new cases of the disease COVID-19 announced on Saturday the Ministry of Health from a total of 3,477 laboratory diagnoses.
Based on the data so far, the total number of cases is 1,811.
The Famagusta General Hospital treats 10 people positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, four of whom are in the Intensive Care Unit. Two intubated patients are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of the Nicosia General Hospital. In the other hospitals, one patient is treated in a ward COVID-19.
The cases were identified as follows:
Out of 184 samples taken through the process of tracking the contacts of already confirmed cases, 3 cases were identified. One person is close contact from the family environment of the case announced on 30/9, related to the National Achnas cluster. The current person had symptoms (cough, sore throat, myalgias) from 30/9, the 2nd person is a close contact of the case announced on 29/9 from the tracking of the contacts of another incident (27/9). She is the 4th person from this chain and the 3rd person is a contact of the student of Linopetra High School that was announced on 27/9. He is attending a High School in the District of Limassol. We now have 7 people in the chain.
Out of 1,255 samples taken as part of the passenger and repatriate control, 6 cases were identified.
One person came from Moscow to Larnaca on 2/10, two people came from London to Larnaca on the same flight on 2/10 and three people came from Athens to Larnaca on the same flight on 2/10.
From 101 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 1 case was identified.
This is a British man who came to Cyprus on 27/9 from England. On 2/10 he developed symptoms (cough and fever) and visited the hospital. He was transferred to Famagusta.
Out of 831 samples taken through private initiative, 8 cases were identified. Two people work in a company in Dasaki of Achna. They did the examination privately through the company where they work. Both people today had symptoms since 29/9, one a taste and runny nose and the other weakness and cough. One person is a football player of ASIL Lysis and contact of one of the previous cases of the team that was announced on 29/9. He took a test to be able to fight. One person took the test privately, with no symptoms. One person had symptoms since 29/9 (sore throat, myalgia, headache) and took the test privately and three people underwent the test on the 12th day to be released from quarantine according to the relevant Decree. All three people came from Russia: the 2 people on 18/9 and the 3rd person on 20/9.
From 285 samples taken under the program of referrals by Personal Doctors and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics, 4 cases were identified. The first person is an employee of the British Bases. On 1/30 he had a sore throat. The 9nd person had symptoms from 2/30 (sore throat, myalgias) and was referred by the Personnel. The 9rd person had symptoms on 3/29 (fever, myalgia, cough) and was referred by the Doctor's Staff. The 9th person underwent the examination as part of a preoperative examination.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were performed without detecting a case:
From samples taken as part of the sampling carried out by the KOP in Associations participating in its events, 398 laboratory diagnoses were completed, and
From samples taken under the control program of students, teachers and school staff, 423 laboratory diagnoses were completed.
