A fire broke out in the early hours of the morning in the Dasaki Achna community, causing extensive damage to a wooden external structure of a building that was used as a food preparation area, according to a post on platform X by Fire Department Spokesperson Andreas Kettis. Fire trucks from Larnaca were mobilized to extinguish it, in collaboration with the British Bases Fire Department, while the causes of the fire remain under investigation.

"At 02:39, Larnaca fire stations responded with two fire engines to support the British Bases Fire Service, which responded with one fire engine to a fire in a wooden external structure (pergola) of a property in the Dasaki Achna Community that was used as a food preparation area.
The space suffered extensive damage to its contents. The heat and smoke affected the paint as well as the equipment outside the building. Breathing apparatus, water hoses and ventilation of the interior of the building were used to extinguish the fire.
The causes are being investigated by British Bases."
