"Books – Life Jackets": A unique journey to reading for children at the Achna Community Library

As part of the innovative program of the Deputy Ministry of Culture "Library Philanthropy Routes in Libraries", the Achna Community Library welcomes the educational program entitled "Books - Life Jackets", which is the first action in a series of educational workshops, which is aimed at children aged 6 to 12 and will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Achna Community Library.

The program was designed and presented by museum educator Ms. Theodora Kolypera, and is implemented in collaboration with the Cyprus Association of Librarians and Information Scientists (KEBEP), the Deputy Ministry of Culture and the Christina Apostolou Foundation.

The objectives of the program are:
• Strengthening emotional intelligence
• Recognition of the book as a refuge in difficult times
• Cultivating a love of reading and reading habits

The event promises a creative afternoon full of imagination, emotions and meaningful contact with the world of books. Come and discover together how books can become… lifesavers!
