The arrest of a 29-year-old man was carried out last night in Ayia Napa by members of the TAE Famagusta regarding the investigated offenses of assaulting a police officer and resisting lawful arrest.
Specifically, while the members were conducting examinations related to an investigated case of burglary, they approached a person who had been indicated as a suspect. When they informed him of the reasons for their presence and asked him to present his details, the 29-year-old pushed a member of the TAE.
In his attempt to escape, he was pursued by the members of the TAE Famagusta and was stopped. During the arrest he resisted and as a result he was arrested for the original offenses of assaulting a police officer and resisting lawful arrest.
The 29-year-old was then taken to the Ayia Napa Police Station and after being accused in writing of the crimes he committed, he was released to be summoned before the Court later.
