An event entitled "I cycle for the children of Africa" organized by the NGO International Humanitarian Aid (IHA), took place at noon on Sunday, September 25, in Ayia Napa.
The event, which was put under the auspices of the Minister of Transport Yannis Karousos, started and ended at the church of Panagia Agia Napa.
Anorthosis football players were at the finish, for autographs and photos.
All the proceeds of the event will be allocated to the Evangelism Health Center, in Tulear, Madagascar, to buy milk for poor and orphaned babies, feed malnourished children and buy medicines that are given completely free to all patients.
In his brief address, His Holiness referred to the value of giving to fellow human beings and the preciousness of the good of health to our African brothers who are plagued by poverty and problems more than our own.
He thanked the parish of Ayia Napa and all the contributors to the organization and wished God's blessing to contribute to everyone's spiritual progress so that "this manifestation of love becomes a common good for our whole country and for the whole world", he added.
