"We welcome you to a special Epitaph at the Epitaph of the city of our heart. Looking forward to the Resurrection of our city and the reunification of our homeland.
We are here because there is a reason. We are here because we do not accept substitutes for our homes, our neighborhood, our city. We are all here together because we do not forget.
We are tired and frustrated, but who can tell our dead, who can tell our city that I am tired?
For our downstream today, it is primarily our fault. We allowed the small politicians of a weak and defenseless place to behave like rulers of an empire. To serve parties and pockets, as if there is no threat, danger and cliff, as if half of our homeland is a foreign piece.
We know everything, we saw everything, we lived it all. We do not ask you to listen to us. We have been doing this for 45 years. We ask you to act as leaders and not as submissive to any interests. We ask you to lead the effort for a solution and break the deadlocks, each personally. If you want to be the legal representatives of all Cypriots, then do not let the Turkish Cypriot properties be demolished for supposed development. Do not give an excuse to Turkey to do the same on our property.
So when you cross the roadblock to return to everyday life, remember; Famagusta is not a symbol, it is our life.
It is not just a desire to return, it is our teenage years, our neighborhood, the graves of our fathers and grandfathers, our lost dignity.
