The protest was organized by the Cypriot Nurses and Midwives Association, the Cypriot Doctors Association, the Cypriot Medical Association and the Cypriot Pharmacists Association.

Doctors and nurses pointed to increasing incidents of violence against their colleagues, such as the attack on a paramedic in recent days and the latest, the stabbing of urologist Sadretin Tuju.

The attack against the doctor was condemned by many politicians and social organizations in the occupied territories.
