Today, the Commissioner of the Presidency, Fotis Fotiou, had a meeting with the Mayor and the Members of the Municipal Council of Famagusta on issues of his responsibilities.
During the meeting, the Commissioner referred to the involvement of our organized federations abroad in matters of enlightenment regarding our National issue but mainly for Famagusta.
He stated that it is very important for the UN resolutions on Famagusta and the organized groups of our diaspora to be our best ambassadors for raising awareness regarding the struggle of the Cypriots abroad.
Then Mr. Fotiou stressed that today specific decisions have been taken on how the diaspora will support the effort of the Famagusta people and specific actions that need to be taken.
Finally, the Commissioner thanked those present for the meeting and stressed that we will immediately begin the implementation of the above objectives.
The Mayor of Famagusta thanked the Commissioner for the very good and constructive discussion they had and for the practical measures which they decided and will be implemented in the near future.
