Greek Cypriots were also present at the scene and went to Famagusta to support the event of the MEPs as well as members of the "police" of the pseudo-state.

The purpose of the visit is to bring the issue of the return of Famagusta to the forefront, based on the provisions of the European Parliament Declaration of 14 February 2012, which calls on the Turkish Government, among other things, to implement Resolutions 550 (1984) and 789 (1992). UN Security.
In the morning, the MEPs had a meeting with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Cyprus, Elizabeth Spehar, while last night they also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Christodoulidis.
This was followed by a press conference at the Cultural Center of occupied Famagusta in Deryneia.
