The documentary "Varosha, the Walled City of Europe" will be screened on February 4, in Seville, Spain, in the context of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union during the first half of 2026.
According to an announcement by the Varosha International Initiative, a series of events has been planned between February 2-6, which includes the screening of a documentary about the walled city of Varosha, a photography exhibition with the flora of Cyprus, an art exhibition, a dinner with Cypriot cuisine and Cypriot wines.
It is noted that the event is held with the support of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission in Seville, with the aim of promoting the history, culture and heritage of Cyprus and is addressed to the European employees of the JRC and the residents of Seville.
As reported, the event will be honored with their presence by the Ambassador of Cyprus to Spain, the Consul of Cyprus in Seville, the Director of the JRC in Seville and the European Commissioner for the Environment, Oceans and Fisheries.
The documentary's producer, Tonis Toumazis, will attend the events and after the screening of the documentary will participate in a panel discussion to delve deeper and engage the audience on the particular issue of Varosha.
