Mr. Ioannou also said that the Municipality has a series of contacts with ambassadors of foreign countries in Cyprus, in the light of the statements made by the Turkish side about the enclosed city of Famagusta.
He already mentioned, we had meetings with the Ambassador of Russia and the High Commissioner of Australia, whom we informed, and they were very positive about our positions.
He also said that on Friday, October 11, they will have a meeting with the High Commissioner of the United Kingdom, while they are waiting for answers for the meetings they requested with the Ambassadors of the USA and China.
Mr. Ioannou also said that on October 14, a delegation of the Municipality will go to Brussels to have meetings with members of the European Parliament.
On October 21-23, a two-member delegation of the City Council will pay a visit to the United Kingdom where it will have meetings with British MPs. He will also attend an event organized on October 22 in the House of Commons by the Famagusta Association of Great Britain, with the participation of British MPs.
Mr. Ioannou also stated that a meeting is expected to be arranged at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Ambassadors of the EU member states. This meeting is expected to take place, as he said, in the last ten days of October.
