Suspension of the strike measures at the Public Hospitals of Larnaca and Famagusta, the hourly staff unanimously decided, according to a joint announcement of the OEKDY-SEK and PASYEK-PEO Trade Unions.
"Taking into account the fact that OKYpY recognized the dire need for additional recruitments to staff new building extensions, the hourly staff unanimously decided to suspend the strike measures that had been announced, until March 8, after being informed at General Meetings, which were held on an emergency basis in the Public Hospitals of Larnaca and Famagusta", the announcement states.
It is mentioned, at the same time, that on the date in question OKYpY undertook to notify the trade unions of the number of additional organic positions, which will be finalized after the result of the study that is already underway.
"The OKYpY's admission, even by the employer, that there are additional needs satisfies the employees. However, we warn that in the event that OKYpY does not implement what it committed to in writing, the workers will react immediately and dynamically", conclude the OEKDY-SEK and PASYEK-PEO, in their joint statement.
