At the beginning of the new year, the Hemodialysis Unit at the Famagusta General Hospital will be ready for operation, the Minister of Health Michalis Hatzipantela said today.
In statements at the General Hospital of Famagusta where he visited doctors, nurses and patients, the Minister said that "we want them to feel that we are by their side, to listen to them and if they have any problems we will solve them".
He added that in the next few days he will also visit the Paphos General Hospital, because as he explained "I want to send the message that we are not only in Famagusta but also in Paphos, while I plan to go to a First Aid Department on New Year's Day to see firsthand hand how people are served and if there are any problems".
As Mr. Hatzipantela said before the visit to the pediatric wards of the Famagusta Hospital, he also visited the "notorious" as he described it, the Hemodialysis Unit. "I was very pleased to see that the Unit will be ready to operate at the beginning of the new year and will be used by our patients around January 9 or 10," he said.
He added that “it was a very important project that after several battles and struggles and with the help of the media this goal was achieved. The machines are ready, the space is ready, and if it needs to be strengthened with personnel, we will certainly strengthen it."
