On 17/02/2025 at 10:30, as part of the Police's social contribution, members of the Famagusta Police Directorate donated food, basic necessities and clothing to the Famagusta District Volunteer Council with the aim of distributing them to needy families in the Famagusta District.
The members of the Famagusta Police Department responded very positively to the call for help and the entire effort was crowned with complete success.
The handover took place at the Agalia – zo – Day Care Center for the Elderly and People with Dementia in Liopetri by the Famagusta Police Director, Police Chief 1st Lt. George Economou, to the President of the Provincial Volunteer Council, Mr. Vasos Christodoulou, during a charity event for the elderly with an artistic program in which the Police Philharmonic participated.
The event was attended by the President of the Famagusta District Organization, G. Karousos, the Deputy Mayors of the municipal districts of Ayia Napa, Sotiras, Liopetriou and Avgorou, a representative of the municipal district of Deryneia, the rural manager of the Deputy High Commissioner, K. Papamichael, members of the Community Policing and senior citizens who had the opportunity to enjoy the artistic program.
