A fire broke out around 5:00 in the afternoon in a printing office located on the ground floor of a two-story building in the community of Avgorou, mobilizing the Fire Department.
According to the Spokesman of the Service, Andreas Ketti, the Famagusta fire station responded to the fire with three fire engines and managed to bring it under control. The damage, which is extensive, was limited after the efforts of the firefighting forces, both to the infrastructure of the printing house and to the equipment.
Firefighters used water hose installations and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.
As Mr. Kettis mentioned, fortunately the tenants of the first floor noticed the fire in time and got out to a safe place, while there was no one in the printing office.
The causes of the fire are being investigated by the Fire Service in cooperation with the Police.
