With a percentage of alcohol in her body, several times above the permissible limit, she was driving a 58-year-old resident of a village in the province of Famagusta, who was involved in a traffic collision on Sunday night in Avgorou with a National Guard vehicle. No injuries were reported from the collision.

The accident happened around 7 pm, on the road Avgorou - Frenarous, when the car driven by the 58-year-old, under conditions under investigation, collided with a leading double-cab vehicle of the National Guard. As a result of the collision, the double-cab vehicle deviated from its course and overturned in an adjacent field.
The 58-year-old underwent an alcohol test with a final reading of 148μg%, instead of 22μg%. She was then taken to her home and today is expected to be charged in writing to appear in Court.
The Xylofagou Police Station and the Barracks of the 7th Motorized Infantry Brigade continue the examinations.
