A fire that broke out late Sunday night in Avgorou destroyed approximately 750 bales of hay, while the causes remain unknown. Firefighters are still on the scene as a precaution, with the Famagusta Fire Department investigating the case.
In a statement, the Police Communications Branch said that at around 10.20 last night, a fire was detected in hay bales in Avgorou.
"Members of the Police and Fire Department went to the scene. Approximately 750 bales of hay were destroyed by the fire," he adds.
It is noted that "the causes of the fire are unknown at this stage, while Fire Department forces remain at the scene as a precaution."
The Famagusta Vocational Training Institute continues its exams.
