The Fire Department was mobilized following fires in houses in Nicosia and Avgorou.
According to the Fire Service spokesperson, the fire was caused in a wooden house in Nicosia due to a faulty fireplace chimney. Part of the roof was affected by the fire and heat.
A short time later, a fire broke out in a bedroom of a house in Avgorou. The fire burned the contents and equipment of the room, while the temperature and smoke affected the kitchen and living room of the house.
During this period, no one was residing inside the house. To extinguish the fire, our members entered the house using breathing apparatus and used water hoses to extinguish the fire.
The causes will be investigated today in collaboration with the Police.
