Announcement of a competition for the Avgorou Amphitheater. A major cultural project in the Avgorou Municipal District of the Ayia Napa Municipality is soon entering into Implementation.
The Municipality of Ayia Napa (Municipal District of Avgorou) announces the call for tender for the implementation of the important project "Avgorou Amphitheatre", included in the Cohesion Policy Program "THALEIA 2021–2027", with co-financing from the European Union.
The project, with a total budget of €1.480.000,00 (excluding VAT), concerns the construction of a modern open-air amphitheater with 700 seats, with the possibility of future expansion to 1.000 seats. The amphitheater will be developed on state-owned plot no. 230 in Avgorou, in accordance with Lease Agreement no. 64/10 dated 17/05/2010, which was concluded with the then Avgorou Community Council.
In addition to the main stage and seats, the project includes full supporting infrastructure such as changing rooms, restrooms, screening room, canteen, offices, ticket office, parking and landscaping. The duration of the project is set at 18 months, while the bid submission date is July 4, 2025.
The construction of the Avgorou Amphitheater is part of the broader plan of the Municipality of Ayia Napa to strengthen the cultural infrastructure, promote local creation and upgrade the quality of life of citizens.
In his statements, the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou, expressed his satisfaction that the Municipality proceeded with the announcement of the competition for the construction of the Amphitheater in the Municipal District of Avgorou, a project, as he stated, “that reflects our ongoing commitment to development and cultural upgrading.” He also noted that its design began several years ago and was a desire and expectation of the local community, emphasizing at the same time that the Avgorou Amphitheater is not just a new infrastructure, but a cultural reference point that will substantially upgrade the area.
