The Municipality of Ayia Napa - Municipal District of Avgorou, in collaboration with the Association of the Fallen and Missing, the families of the Heroes and organized groups, will hold on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul, the National Memorial of the Fallen during the Turkish Invasion of 1974.
The memorial speech will be delivered by the Director General of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, Dr. Marina Ioannou Hasapi.
There will also be a prayer for the fate of the missing, a trisagion and the laying of wreaths at the graves of the Heroes of 1974, and the ceremony will conclude with the playing of the National Anthem.
After the Memorial, refreshments will be offered at the Avgorou Ethnographic Museum.
The presence of everyone is a small tribute to the heroes who sacrificed themselves for the freedom of our homeland and to the missing persons whose fate remains uncertain for 51 years.
