The Council of Ministers, during today's Session, chaired by the President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis, decided to re-assign to Theodosis A. Tsiolas, the duties of Secretary of the Council of Ministers provided by Article 60 of the Constitution.

In addition, he was assigned the duties of Head of the Presidency of the Republic, as well as monitoring the implementation of the government's work and the decisions of the Council of Ministers, under the political supervision of the Deputy Minister despite the President.

Mr. Tsiolas, originally from and living in the village of Avgorou in the Famagusta Province, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance with Computing from Kent University in the UK and a Master's degree with a Distinction from Cardiff Metropolitan University. Business Administration in Human Resources and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Cyprus Association of Certified Public Accountants.

He began his professional career in Cyprus in the private sector as an Accountant / Auditor and later as Chief Financial Officer. Then, he was appointed to the Public Service, initially, as a 1st Class Accountant, at the General Accounting Office of the Republic, he was promoted to the position of Senior Accountant and then to the position of Chief.

From time to time, he was assigned the duties of Head of the Policy and Development Department of the Directorate of Public Contracts of the General Accounting Department and Head of the Offers Sector of the Department of Medical Services and Public Health Services at the Ministry of Health.

In March 2013, he was assigned by the Council of Ministers the duties of Secretary of the Council of Ministers, which he has held to this day. Mr. Tsiolas is married to Fotini Fotiou Tsiola and has three children.
