The Avgorou Municipal District of the Ayia Napa Municipality and the Festival Organizing Committee are feverishly preparing for the organization of the 11th Potato Festival, an institution that has now been established as the leading gastronomic, cultural and artistic event of Kokkinochoria and constitutes a point of reference for the promotion of local agricultural production and the cultural heritage of the place.
The Festival will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Avgorou Community Stadium at 8:00 PM, and promises to offer the audience an unforgettable evening full of music, entertainment, local flavors and authentic experiences. The Festival's artistic stage will host renowned artists of Greek music such as Stamatis Gonidis, Giorgos Papadopoulos, Eleni Hatzidou and the rising singer Phidias. The artists will be accompanied by a large musical ensemble, while the stage will be transformed with impressive lighting and floor-to-ceiling fireworks, offering the audience a spectacular spectacle.
The event will start early, at 6:00 pm, with a two-hour live link from the Zenith FM station, with well-known radio producers Rikko Ioannou and Marianna, creating the right atmosphere for the evening to follow.
The festival is not limited to music but also includes a rich parallel program with an exhibition area dedicated to potatoes, presentations of potato varieties, exhibitions of old and modern agricultural machinery, as well as live demonstrations of traditional techniques for manufacturing agricultural tools. Agricultural professionals will have the opportunity to present their products and services through specially designed stands, contributing to the information and promotion of the sector.
Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy free traditional potato-based dishes, enjoying genuine Cypriot hospitality. At the same time, kiosks will operate in the area selling food such as ofto kleftiko, souvla, twisted potato, sweets such as loukoumades, ice cream, crepes and refreshing drinks.
The Pancyprian Potato Festival in Avgorou is a renowned institution that honors the hard work of producers and highlights the rich cultural identity of our country. The Municipality of Ayia Napa and the Municipal District of Avgorou invite the public from every corner of Cyprus to attend this unique event, honoring the potato and the people of the land who cultivate it with dedication, passion and respect for tradition.
