The three documentary seminars and the great concert "Symphony of Freedom" with which "Agia Napa 2030" honored the great Greek Composer and defender of human rights Mikis Theodorakis as part of its Festival of Ideas were crowned with great success.
The three seminars - documentaries as well as the concert "Symphony of Freedom - "The Global Mikis Theodorakis" organized by "Agia Napa 2030" - candidate cultural capital of Europe, in the context of its Festival of Ideas, which aims to promote among others the empowerment of Human Rights, freedom and Democracy.
The seminars were held in the Municipal Apartments of the Municipality of Agia Napa, Liopetri, Avgorou and Agia Napa and during their duration the attendees heard what was told about the life and work of the great Greek Music Composer Mikis Theodorakis, his close collaborator and biographer of Mr. Giorgos Logothetis, while then they watched the documentaries from the historic concerts given by the renowned musician in various cities abroad.
In the crowded hall of the THALASSA Municipal Museum, the concert "Symphony of Freedom - "The Global Mikis Theodorakis" took place, where the artists Stelios Konstantas, Niki Karaiskou and Avra Aresti, accompanied on the piano by Giorgos Payatis and the friendly participation of the international renowned Cypriot artist Mr. Stavrou Sideras performed favorite hits of Mikis Theodorakis offering the attendees an evening full of emotion and inspiration and the audience in turn rewarded them with warm applause.
After the events - a tribute to Mikis Theodorakis, the artistic director of the Organization, Ms. Tasoula Kallenou made statements stating that "Agia Napa 2030" through the Festival of Ideas that she established, honored the priceless legacy of Mikis Theodorakis, a great man who sealed the history of art and cultural creation.
Mikis Theodorakis added that he was not only a leading composer, but also an intellectual, a campaigner and a humanitarian, who through his music and struggles, expressed pain, hope and the need for freedom.
"We had the honor" said Ms. Kallenou "to listen to the biographer of Mr. George Logothetis, who with his depth and dedication conveyed to us the essence of Miki's life and work". Together with his wife he continued, Ms. Fotini Logothetis "brought us closer to the core of Theodorakis' personality, giving life to the words, thoughts and ideals of the great creator".
"Our cultural journey" he noted "ended with the concert "Symphony of Freedom - "The Global Mikis Theodorakis", where together with the hundreds of spectators we experienced a magical evening in the hall of the THALASSA Municipal Museum with the excellent music composer Giorgos Payatis on the piano, the great performers Stelios Constantas, Niki Karaiskou and Avra Aresti and the internationally acclaimed Cypriot artist Mr. Stavrou Sideras, who with his passion and artistic sensitivity, added a unique dimension to the event, giving voice to ideals that transcend borders and eras.
