A rescue operation for a 24-year-old from the United Kingdom was launched on Friday afternoon by the Fire Department, after he became trapped on a rock next to the sea in the sea caves area in Ayia Napa.
According to the Service's press spokesman, Andreas Kettis, the incident occurred around 15:33 and the 24-year-old was injured, as a result of which he was unable to climb to a safe place.
The Fire Department was called to the scene, whose members placed the 24-year-old on an immobilization stretcher and, after being retrieved using a ladder, he was handed over to the ambulance crew and transferred to the Emergency Department of Famagusta General Hospital.
The incident was handled by members of the Famagusta Fire Station.
