For another year, the Annual Tree Planting and Cleanup Campaign of the Sculpture Park was successfully held, organized on the morning of Wednesday, March 05, 2025, by the "Aroma" Association of Ayia Napa - Friends of the Sculpture Park in collaboration with the Municipality of Ayia Napa.
The event, which took place as part of the Association's annual activities to support the Municipality of Ayia Napa in its work to upgrade, develop, maintain and promote the Ayia Napa International Sculpture Park, was attended by members of the Association and the students of the 50rd Primary School of the Sotiras Municipal District of the Ayia Napa Municipality, together with the Director and their teachers, where they symbolically planted XNUMX saplings, equal to the number of years since the Turkish Invasion, and presented an artistic program with dances and songs.
Welcoming the students, the President of the "Aroma" Association of Ayia Napa - Friends of the Sculpture Park, Mr. Christakis Pittas, after expressing his heartfelt thanks to both the school management and the children for their participation in the Association's event, informed them about the history of the creation of the Park, which, as he said, is one of the largest and leading open-air museums in the world.
He also thanked the Mayor of Ayia Napa for the many years of good cooperation and for the fact that he placed the event under his auspices, as well as the Deputy Mayor of the Sotiras Municipal District of Ayia Napa Municipality, Mr. Antonis Koumis, who honored the event with his presence and delivered a greeting on behalf of the Mayor, Mr. Christos Zannetou, as well as the Kosmas Markos Nursery for the free provision of 50 seedlings to the association, and the Cosmelenia company for the sponsorship to cover the children's transportation costs.
In his greeting, Mr. Koumis stated that with the help and support of the "Aroma" Association of Ayia Napa - Friends of the Sculpture Park, the aim of the action is to combine environmental care with social participation, encouraging citizens and visitors to actively participate in the protection of the natural and cultural wealth of our region.
Furthermore, he added, "this action strengthens the cooperation between the Municipality, citizens and local community organizations and through our active participation we send the message that protecting the environment and preserving our cultural heritage is a task that requires collective effort."
