A few words about the project

The king of a fantastic country, after an accident, is forced to walk on crutches. But because he is a king, he does whatever he wants, he orders all his subjects to use crutches. Over the years, people begin to forget how they walked before the decree. But somewhere, the memory is still alive and preparing for the overthrow.

Puppet player Roberto Braham (Canicula Puppets) from Guatemala and narrator Marina Katsari from Cyprus, unite their arts in a dynamic partnership of narrative puppetry. The unparalleled power of wearable dolls made especially for the show by Roberto Braham and the atmospheric narration enliven a whole world of power and resistance, joke and drama, darkness but also light. The story of the show is an adaptation of the folk tale "The crutches" as recorded by Lili Lambrelli in her collection "Ten and one tales of wisdom for times of crisis and other troubles" (published by Pataki, 2014)
