The Police arrested three people in the early hours of today, in order to facilitate investigations related to an investigated case of disturbing the peace, causing concern, possessing aggressive instruments and attacking police officers.
Specifically, around 1 a.m. today, information was received about a fight on a street in Ayia Napa. Police foot patrol immediately went to the scene. Upon the arrival of the police officers at the scene, three unknown persons were identified, who according to the information obtained, had previously participated in the fight. The three unknowns were in possession of licences, glass bottles and were heading towards an adjacent entertainment centre.
The members of the Police approached the three unknowns and asked them for their information, however they ran away. The police officers followed them and managed to stop them at close range. Then the three attacked the policemen, as a result of which they were stopped by the members of the Police and arrested for obvious crimes.
As it was established, these are two 23-year-olds and a 19-year-old, who were taken into custody to facilitate investigations.
The Ayia Napa Police Station is investigating the case.
