The educational Experiential Workshops on the theme "Journeying to My Roots", organized by the Municipality of Ayia Napa through the Open School, were held with great success.
Dozens of elementary and middle school children responded to the Municipality's call and attended the educational experiential workshops, gaining unique experiences.
Under the guidance of weaver Eleni Zartila, they wove on small frames and learned how to plumb pumpkins from Mrs. Chrystalla Pitsilli.
Mayor Mr. Christos Zannetou welcomed the successful outcome of the workshops, noting at the same time that the Municipality's goal is, through these experiential educational workshops, to introduce children to and come into contact with the traditions, customs and traditions of our country from an early age, so that as they grow up, they will acquire the guarantees to be the continuers of our traditions and cultural heritage themselves.
"We will continue," said Mr. Zannettou, "to transmit in every way to future generations the folk culture of our country because we firmly believe that a place that is cut off from its roots and traditions ceases to exist.
