TZVI POGHAL, a 68-year-old visitor from Israel, was killed in a second deadly road collision half an hour after midnight today.
According to the information under investigation, while the 68-year-old was driving his electric scooter in the direction from Ayia Napa to Ayia Thekla, under conditions that are being investigated, he seems to have entered the opposite direction and collided with a car driven by the 26-year-old.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the collision, while the 68-year-old was thrown and fell to the ground, while an ambulance was called, which transported him to the Emergency Department of the Famagusta General Hospital, where the on-duty doctor certified it.
The 26-year-old underwent a preliminary alcohol test with zero indication, while in a drug test he was found to be positive for amphetamines.
The Famagusta Traffic Police is investigating the circumstances of the accident.
