Police actions in the tourist areas of Ayia Napa and Protaras between the dates 11/8/23-14/8/23. In the context of the implementation of an action plan of the Famagusta Police Department in the tourist areas of Protaras and Ayia Napa, with the aim of more effectively preventing and combating crime and strengthening the sense of security and protection of citizens, coordinated operations were carried out with the participation of members of the police stations of Paralimni, Agia Napa but also members of OPE, TAE, Famagusta Traffic, Y.KA.N Famagusta, Y.A&M Famagusta as well as members of M.M.A.D.
MMAD members arrested 5 Greek Cypriots aged 19 for the obvious offenses of publicly insulting members of the police and illegal possession and transportation of explosives without a permit from the explosives inspector (122 DOKO rounds and 9 Flopper type MOKO rounds) in a motor vehicle vehicle and after being accused in writing of the offenses they committed they were released.
