The visit is part of the Municipality's coordinated efforts for the protection, promotion and sustainable management of its cultural heritage. During its duration, an extensive recording of the needs of these sites and an exchange of views were carried out, with the aim of designing a comprehensive framework of interventions that will substantially contribute to their upgrading.
Specifically, suggestions were made regarding the systematic cleaning of the premises, the replacement of the existing fencing, the installation of discreet lighting using solar energy, as well as the renewal of information signs with environmentally friendly materials and a modern design of high aesthetics.
The Deputy Mayor of the Ayia Napa Municipal District, Mr. Antonis Christou, emphasized that this initiative is part of the Municipality's ongoing strategy to highlight its historical treasures. Conveying the thanks of the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou, and the members of the Municipal Council, he warmly thanked the Department of Antiquities for the long-standing cooperation and practical support in the joint efforts to preserve and promote the cultural identity of the region.
