After two years of absence due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Ayia Napa Youth Soccer Festival, the largest Youth Football Festival not only in our country but in Europe and in the Eastern Mediterranean, returns dynamically renewed, ready to offer new experiences and emotions.
In a press conference held today, Wednesday 06 April 2022, at the Municipal Palace of Ayia Napa, the Mayor Mr. Christos Zannettou expressed his special joy that after two years of absence it became possible, to be implemented this year in Ayia Napa for the 20th year, the International Tournament Academies, after the superhuman efforts made by the administrative and management team of the SoccerWorldCyprus Association, which he congratulated and thanked warmly.
The Ayia Napa International Football Tournament mentioned not only promotes Ayia Napa internationally but also our country and brings benefits both from the participation of athletes and from the participation of parents, relatives, friends of children who participate and his friends sport they want to watch.

Speaking in detail about the Tournament, the President of the Soccerworldcyprus Association stated that in this year's event which will take place at the sports facilities of the Municipality of Ayia Napa from April 16-20, 5000 children from 328 different football divisions will take part (among them 25 different football divisions). from Middle Eastern countries such as Lebanon and Jordan), who will have the opportunity to compete in 11 different age categories. In addition to the massive participation of teams and children, the tournament, he said, is expected to be watched by more than 20,000 fans, most of whom come from the families of the players.
The tournament noted is a real football celebration and the goal of all "both for us the organizers but also for all those who will attend the event should be the protection of children, who should be given the opportunity away from the pressure and anxiety of victory to enjoy and have fun with their soul ".
Innovation in this year's event, he said, is the special tournament for girls in two age categories K17 and K14, as well as the creation of three separate level categories in the knock out phase, while he characterized the cooperation with the digital channel Digital, which will broadcast live internet links. throughout the event and especially in the finals and awards.
This year 's event added that it will have a charitable character, since during the event there will be a food and clothing collection kiosk in support of the charitable action of the Pancyprian Volunteer Council.
