The 47th Voluntary Blood Donation of the Municipality of Ayia Napa was completed with complete success, taking place in a climate of giving, emotion and active participation. The initiative brought together 65 fellow citizens, of whom 50 donated blood, strengthening the national reserve and offering hope to dozens of patients in need.
Also present at the blood donation was the Deputy Mayor of the Ayia Napa Municipal District, Mr. Antonis Christou, who warmly thanked all the volunteer blood donors who responded to the call and selflessly offered the supreme gift of life – their blood – for the relief and salvation of their fellow human beings in need.
Mr. Christou underlined the importance of such acts of social service, noting that voluntary blood donation is an act of selflessness and solidarity, which reflects the high sense of responsibility and humanity that distinguishes citizens.
At the same time, he expressed the Municipality's intention to continue to support and strengthen such initiatives, recognizing their crucial role in strengthening the social fabric and supporting the Famagusta Ministry of Health Blood Center.
In his statements, Mayor Mr. Christos Zannetou expressed his gratitude to the blood donors, doctors, nurses and all volunteers and employees of the Municipality for their remarkable contribution, which contributed to the exceptional success of the 47th blood donation.
"The act of donating blood to a fellow human being in need is a particularly noble and auspicious act," he said, adding: "Warm congratulations to all those who responded to our call and donated life through their blood. We are committed to continuing to plan and implement voluntary blood donations at regular intervals in all the Municipal Districts of our Municipality, in close collaboration with the Famagusta Blood Center of the Ministry of Health, the Local Blood Donation Committee and all local bodies."
