Two important landmarks of Ayia Napa such as the Underwater Museum of Sculpture "MUSAN" and the Municipal Museum "Sea" recently passed the baton of "Queen's Baton Relay", which began on October 7 the journey of 294 days until the beginning of Commonwealth Games "Birmingham 2022", in 72 states and regions of the Commonwealth, with our country as the first stop, conveying the message of Queen Elizabeth II to the peoples of the Commonwealth and at the same time each country its own message for solidarity, peace, solidarity in the context of sportsmanship.
The baton was transported by underwater diving to "MUSAN" and by running to the "Sea" Museum, our two swimming champions Maria Papadopoulou and Iakovos Hatzikonstantis, who were accompanied by representatives of the Cypriot Committee of Commonwealth Games. Of Britain in Cyprus and who were welcomed on behalf of the Mayor of Ayia Napa Mr. Christos Zannettos, the Municipal Secretary of the Municipality Mr. Fotos Kikillos.
Mr. Kikillos expressed to the organizers the satisfaction and the heartfelt thanks both to himself and to the Mayor and the Members of the Municipal Council that in such an important event two very important points of reference of Ayia Napa have been included, which will be shown through video and in the 72 countries of the Commonwealth with multiple benefits for both our city and our country in general.
