From the bust of the student hero of the 1955-59 Liberation Struggle, Loukas Loukas, passed on Friday, March 21, 2025, the Relay Race "Freedom Road - From the relay runner Petros Giallouros to the lover of Freedom Evagoras Pallikaridis", which was organized by the Paralimni High School on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the start of the 1955-59 Liberation Struggle.
The student relay runners and their accompanying teachers were welcomed by the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou, who congratulated the students and teachers of the school for their commendable initiative to honor in this way the student heroes of our Liberation Struggle against the British yoke, an initiative that demonstrates, as he emphasized, that our student youth do not forget those who sacrificed themselves for the freedom of our homeland.
After the short ceremony, wreaths were laid at the bust of the hero by the Mayor, Mr. Christos Zannetou, and the Director of the Paralimni High School, Mr. Adamos Sergiou, and it closed with the National Anthem.
