The Ayia Napa Municipality Open School is moving in a festive rhythm in December, presenting its rich program of activities within the framework of the "Open Lifelong Learning for All" initiative.
Among the December activities, two creative workshops stand out under the title “Christmas Scent: Festive Creation Workshop”. The first workshop, dedicated to the Christmas Charm, gives participants the opportunity to create their own symbolic charm, choosing materials and techniques that express their creativity and the joy of the Christmas season. The activity will take place on Wednesday, December 03rd at the “George Seferis” Cultural Center in the Ayia Napa Municipal District at 18:00 and on Thursday, December 04th at the “Fotis Pittas” Achna Forest Primary School at 18:30, with Frixia Mavroudi, a handmade jewelry craftswoman, as the speaker.
This will be followed by the Christmas Wreath Making Workshop, where participants will have the opportunity to create their own handmade wreath, combining natural materials, colors and ornaments that exude the spirit of the holidays. The event will take place on Tuesday, December 09th at the Achna Forest Primary School “Fotis Pittas” at 18:30 and on Wednesday, December 10th at the “Georgos Seferis” Cultural Center in the Ayia Napa Municipality at 18:30, with the presenter being the artist Ioanna Kasiki.
In addition, the seminar “EPALE: The European Platform for Adult Learning – Opportunities, Tools and Partnerships for All” is being organized in December. EPALE (Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe) is the official digital platform of the European Commission for adult learning and operates as the largest multilingual community of professionals in this field.
The seminar is aimed at educators, parents, professionals, institutions and any adult who wishes to learn about and exploit the possibilities of the platform. Participants will learn how to search for and share educational materials, research, articles and good practices, participate in European learning actions (seminars, workshops and discussions with professionals from all over Europe) and create collaborative networks through communities of practice. In addition, they will learn about the thematic focuses of EPALE 2025 such as Artificial Intelligence in Learning, Key Competencies and Developing Skills for the Future.
The “EPALE” seminar will also have a practical nature, as participants, in the form of a workshop, will be guided in creating a personal account on the platform and in publishing or sharing material with other users. The aim is to acquire the necessary knowledge and tools to utilize EPALE for their own personal and professional development, while strengthening the culture of lifelong learning in the local community. The program is co-funded by the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus and supported by the EPALE National Support Service Cyprus.
The event will take place on Tuesday, December 16th at the Achna Forest Primary School “Fotis Pittas” at 18:30 and on Wednesday, December 17th at the “Georgos Seferis” Cultural Center in the Ayia Napa Municipality at 18:30. The speaker will be Panagiota Constanti, Senior Project Manager and EPALE Cyprus Coordinator for the Social Innovation Center.
The Ayia Napa Municipality Open School invites the public to actively participate in the December activities, taking advantage of the opportunity for creation, learning and knowledge.
