The Police made a new arrest regarding the unprecedented incidents of stone throwing and attacks on passers-by in the Ayia Napa square in the early hours of Sunday, July 17, 2022. Today, Thursday, the Police made an arrest of a 20-year-old foreigner. His arrest took place in Nicosia and subsequently he was brought before the Famagusta Provincial Court by members of the TAE Famagusta and a detention order of six (6) days was secured against him.

It is recalled that for the same case, a 18-year-old political asylum seeker from an African country was arrested on July 2022, 29, against whom a detention order was issued, which expires on July 27, 2022, while the investigative team of the Famagusta Public Prosecutor's Office is intensively continuing its investigations by evaluating video footage from closed video surveillance circuits secured from the area where the events unfolded.
