The Police arrested two persons aged 18 and 17, as part of an investigation into cases of theft from beaches.

Specifically, information was received yesterday by the Police, from a lifeguard, about a person who was on a beach in Ayia Napa, whom he identified as a person who had stolen a bag containing two mobile phones worth 2.200 euros from a beach in Ayia Napa on 22/ 07/2024.

Members of the Police went to the area, where they located the 18-year-old, who allegedly admitted to the theft.

The 18-year-old was arrested on a warrant yesterday afternoon and taken into custody to facilitate inquiries.

The Ayia Napa Police Station is investigating the case.

Also, in the early hours of today, a 17-year-old man was arrested on a court warrant and taken into custody, in relation to an investigated case of theft from a beach, in Larnaca on 24/07/2024, following testimony obtained against him.

According to the complaint made to the Police, on 24/07/2024, a bag containing a mobile phone, a car key and other items was stolen from a beach in Larnaca.

The bag in question was located and handed over to the Police by an employee of the area, the next day, while it was found that only the mobile phone was missing from inside.

The exams continue.
