Around 1345, YOSEF NUNU, 48 years old, a tourist from Israel, was driving a four-wheeled motorcycle on Kryou Nerou Street, in Ayia Napa, with his 49-year-old wife, also from Israel, as a passenger.
At some point on the road, 50 meters from the intersection of Kryou Nerou Street and Kavo Greco Avenue, under circumstances that are being investigated, the driver lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to hit the sidewalk and overturn into a nearby ditch. The driver was fatally injured.
The passenger was transported by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital. It was determined that she had fractures and her health condition is considered serious and out of danger.
Since the beginning of the year, there have been 17 fatal road collisions, with 17 deaths.
