The Permanent Criminal Court of Larnaca - Famagusta today imposed a sentence of two and a half years in prison on a 23-year-old British tourist, who was found guilty, after his own confession to the crime of causing grievous bodily harm.
According to the Police, in mid-May 2019, the 23-year-old tourist attacked and punched his compatriot, also a tourist, in Ayia Napa, causing severe bodily injury and internal bleeding on his face, as a result of which he needed to be treated at the Famagusta General Hospital for a long time.
The attack and the punching took place when the complainant threw and broke, during a misunderstanding, and while they were having fun in Ayia Napa, the glasses of the accused that his fiancée had given him as a gift.
